Our Story

SIC was created by Alice Hargreaves and Rachael Mole back in February 2021. Both Alice and Rachael had experienced barriers in the workplace due to their disabilities. After a few too many bad experiences, they decided that something needed to change and set up SIC with a goal of supporting fellow disabled professionals to thrive at work and in self-employment too.

Originally, SIC offered paid work experience placements and then helped these trainees into paid work or education. Quickly though we realised that businesses were a huge part of the problem and we needed to pivot.

SIC now operates as SIC Official which provides businesses with consulting and support, and as the SIC Learning Hub, which offers a range of free support to disabled and neurodivergent professionals.

Everything we do is born out of our lived experiences.

  • Alice is a social entrepreneur and founder. For over 3 years, Alice has supported disabled and neurodivergent professionals through mentorship, training, events, and e-learning.. Alice also works with businesses on inclusivity best practice - developing workshops, training, toolkits, and policies for a variety of clients. From universities to local authorities to games companies, Alice brings her own lived experience as a disabled and neurodivergent person to her work.

  • Alice Reeves is a business consultant who specialises in branding and digital marketing. They are also the Co-Founder of Joyfully Different, a non-profit business support community and learning hub for neurodivergent business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Creative Lead

  • Annie is our Creative Lead. She manages all of our marketing projects inclusive of graphic design, video production and social media. From a theatre background, she co-leads our theatre workshops with CEO Alice for theatre companies and arts organisations wanting to improve their knowledge of creative access tools and general accessibility in the theatre industry.

    Outside of SIC, Annie is a playwright whose work has been performed at The Other Palace, Camden People’s Theatre and Northern Broadsides.. Her screenplay, Love Ewe is due for release in 2024.

  • I am a Public Affairs professional with experience working within charities, recruitment, and a political office - where I was the neurodiversity policy lead. Outside of work, for the past 15 years I have supported young disabled and neurodiverse people, including running an autistic playgroup and working as a carer on residential holidays for children with multiple and complex needs.

Marketing and Operations Lead

  • Emily is a creative who, like Annie, studied theatre at University. She now runs a series of accessible gaming events, is a BookToker, and a freelance writer. She also works closely with Send It To Alex and is a freelance support worker.

    She now works as an Operations Lead, project managing all SIC operations. Managing everything from budgets to events, she also brings her lived experience of neurodivergence.

    A lover of the arts, Emily has previously worked in the creative industries as a project manager.

Dan O’Driscoll (he/him)

  • Dan is the founder of Engagement Consultancy which specialises in Consultancy, Executive Coaching & Facilitation. Dan is a qualified executive coach and an experienced facilitator, delivering workshops and away days in-person and online. Focusing on topics and themes such as; leadership development, developing a high-performance culture, and building trust and resilience through psychological safety. He also brings a creative, inclusive, and interactive element to his facilitation by using the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology. Prior to running his business, Dan worked in the commercial, charity, and higher education sectors in a variety of leadership roles, working for organisations such as; the University of Birmingham, Oxfam GB, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and Hutchinson 3G UK Ltd.

  • Georgia Bondy is the founder & CEO of disability health startup Well Adapt as well as an activist, performer and artist, creating work about their intersectional experience of the world as a black, queer, disabled feminist.

Rachel Westerbeek (she/her)

  • Following a 17-year career in Higher Education, Rachel works as an independent coach, trainer, and facilitator with a specialism in neurodiversity. Rachel’s ten-year coaching experience and Level 7 qualifications are supported by her lived experience of Autism, ADHD, and Epilepsy.

Millicent Wenlock (she/her)

Advisory Board Member

  • Millicent Wenlock FRSA is a BSc (Hons) Environmental Science student at the University of Stirling and currently is a trustee at the Student's Union, a committee member to a House of Lords inquiry for the transition of disabled and neurodivergent young people from education to employment and a human rights consultant for the Scottish Human Rights Commission, where she advises on the human rights of neurodiverse people.

  • George is a Member of the Board of Advisors for SIC. Through a variety of in-house, agency and freelance roles, George has extensive experience in supporting and managing marketing and PR campaigns for retail start ups and charities.

  • Marina is an accomplished marketer and passionate disability advocate with over 15 years of diverse experience across corporate, startup, and nonprofit sectors. Since her spinal cord injury in 2020, she has become an advocate for disability rights and inclusion. Marina is committed to support individuals with various disabilities from early years to employment.

  • I'm lucky enough to have enjoyed a varied career and worked with some inspiring people across the music and live events industry. My experience covers high level accountability of P&L, strategic growth, commercial management, client engagement management and team management and development. In my free time I'm an amateur runner and guitarist.

  • Director of All4Inclusion and Sign My Vid. Acquired disability in 2020 and has been a full time wheelchair user since. Has also worked 25 years in various roles within the insurance industry. Has an addiction of buying books.

Louise Mousseau(she/her)

Advisory Board Member

  • Louise Mousseau is a fund designer, facilitator and innovation adviser specialising in philanthropy and early-stage social investing. With over 20 years’ experience in the sector, she has a particular interest in Just Transitions and recent clients include Client Earth, The Regenerative Futures Fund, Just Transitions Accelerator and the Tudor Trust. Louise has a portfolio career and also runs her own design agency, Myth Creative, with her husband, where she takes the role of Chief Operations Officer.

    Prior to becoming a consultant and setting up her company, she held senior roles in philanthropy and social investing as the former Portfolio Director/Director of Innovation at Impact on Urban Health and former Director of Ventures at UnLtd. She was also Chair of the Board at environmental campaigning charity Feedback for three years, which won a BBC Food and Farming Award during her tenure.

    Louise has EDS and is hidden disabled. When she isn’t working you can find her singing in one of the largest local community choirs in the country, Choir on the Green.
